If you've had a run in with staff there, please rant here.
I'm really in the mood to rant right now.
They're assholes!!

Beau, the OP says very little. How about links to the posts that got you banned, or give the circumstances as to why you were banned. What was your username there?
I am not an active member there. From a quick look it looks like a small forum.

Several members apparently filed complaints of one form or another, but at least a handful of members, myself included, thought Beau was shafted.
It's one thing to ban a troll or flame-baiter but another for several members to gang up on one person until they react and file complaints against that person to punish them. That is the feeling I have from what little I know about the situation.

Details, details, where are you oh details?
Several members ganging up on one member who has unpopular opinions is common practice on Internet forums. Roadwarrior's post implies that Beau was uncivil. Being uncivil is a valid reason for banning a member, either permanently or temporarily. But we will have to wait for Beau to come back and give us the correct details.
The reason why I am behaving like this is because I have seen so many posts made by people who say they were badly treated and then when the facts are exposed we find it was they who were at fault. But I do not know Beau and I do not know the forum in question, so I look forward to his response.

My take on it is the same as RW's.
My name there is Beau.
I cannot login so I cannot post any of the threads where I was harassed.

Considering TransferenceCure's attitude I'm inclined to side with Beau until shown evidence not to.

Several members ganging up on one member who has unpopular opinions is common practice on Internet forums. Roadwarrior's post implies that Beau was uncivil. Being uncivil is a valid reason for banning a member, either permanently or temporarily. I consider it uncivil to gang up on someone in hopes of driving a them. It's bullying. It often includes flame-baiting. It definitely emotion driven and not conducive to free thinking nor rational discussions. If Beau was uncivil, it was only because others baited her into being so. While she should be responsible for her own actions, others should equally be held accountable for their actions. In this case they were not. Example: 10 people harass person "A" with flame-baiting and trolling. Person "A" counters with comments that escalate the issue but doesn't file any complaints against them. All 10 people file complaints against person "A". It's worse if some of the people involved are mods who will then be making decisions on who is punished and who is banned. It's not a fair way to run a forum which prides itself on "rational thinking".

Precisely.
It is not a reasonable way of running a forum.

Precisely. It is not a reasonable way of running a forum. unless it's how they want to run it, of course.

Precisely. It is not a reasonable way of running a forum. unless it's how they want to run it, of course. Since these forums are often free to the members, we are all essentially guests. So in that regard, the owner(s) of the forum(s) are free to run it as they please. We don't have to like it, agree with it or otherwise support it. If someone says they will run the forum fairly and then do not, they could be called out on violating their declaration of fairness.

Turn off your modem for at least an hour - best overnight. With luck you will get a new IP address. 4. Register again using a different e-mail address. I did have a quick look and you were not treated ideally.

Thanks.
Apparently, Ambrose stirred the pot too, the back-stabbing schmuck.
