The story of noah's ark has no bearing on everyday life, and neither do the other stories in the OT, in case you haven't noticed. Christians generally don't pay attention to the old testament, they follow the teachings of Jesus. You paint a picture of a world of christians who follow everything in the entire bible, even though you know that's a lie.

Most Christians pay attention to those parts of the old testament they want to pay attention to. particularly the bits about gay people being bad. meanwhile they ignore parts of the new testament, Acts 5 for instance where followers give up all their worldly posessions upon joining the church. Most also ignore Christ's words on divorce.

If I could ignore all the silly stories and atrocities in the Bible then I would still be a Christian. Cherry picking will certainly keep a Christian's faith intact.

The story of noah's ark has no bearing on everyday life, Creationists trying to get Creationism into a science classroom? Check. Westboro Baptist Church? Check. So Christians don't pay attention to: Original sin? Moses? Abraham's covenant with God? Check, check and check. Love your enemies? Give away all your possessions to the poor? WOOPS, missed those! Of course it is a lie. No Christian can possibly follow everything in the entire Bible. So the definition of a "True Christian" has been fallaciously more up to the individual/separate denomination.

I started going steady with a girl recently. Maybe I should go chop off 10000 foreskins to convince her to marry me?

I think that would be a reasonable thing to do.
