Nikola Tesla is just one example of a scientist who was supressed. Who else is there? And why does this happen?

Nikola Tesla wasn't exactly "suppressed". He was out-maneuvered by Thomas Edison in the field of dirty tricks and slandering Tesla's public reputation subsequently putting Tesla under. Edison was just jealous that Tesla's inventions were better than his. It also helped Edison that certain people didn't like Tesla and some of his ideas either.

Any good books on Tesla? I've been interested in him for awhile but haven't had enough motivation to look for any books about him.
