Scientifically and technologically, what will the world look like in 100 years?

We will either have shifted to a much more sustainable and resilient approach to economics or we will be in a dark ages.

It will be nothing like anything we would predict. However I will predict it will be a very tolerant place where religion is not a major issue. Crime is almost non-existent. Great effort is made to raise children.

Socially, we will be much better. Not quite the " Federation of United Planets", but certainly mostly free nations working together in self-interest for prosperity and peace. The trend from the last 100 years of the post-colonial age and WWI to the present of relative world peace is amazing by itself. It'd be great to see how much better we'd become as a species in another hundred years. As for technology, I'd hope we'd finally get the Jetson's jet backpacks we were promised back in the 1960s.
