That's a good idea. Any suggestions on how I can go about that?

actually raven is a pretty good mafia recruiter. set up a games forum and when the holidays are over we can probably get a couple of mafia games going and see if it sticks.

I know nothing about this stuff. What does it involve? What does setting up a forum for games involve? I don't get your question. If you get the subforum set up I can see if Raven wants to try and start a mafia culture here.

mafia is a thread-based game. all it requires is a forum, and the ability to give the person who designs and runs the game some low level moderation ability - primarily to lock and unlock threads, though once in a great while the ability to edit posts is needed.

Ok, I'd like to set that up. But I need to get a bit more familiar with what I can adjust here, since I'm new to this, and I'm new to proboards. If you give me a full list of what changes I should make to enable you or whoever to get it going, I'll get onto it.

the way we have it set up at TR is two forums. one for mafia discussions and sign-ups for new games, and one for the games themselves. Both are subforums under our Games forum.
At rationalia.com, we have it set up all in one forum. What you want to be able to do is set up a person as a forum mod, giving them the ability to open, close, and edit threads, set up a poll if that's a separate mod ability, but avoid giving them mod access to user profiles, ip addresses on posts, and whatever other moderator abilities you think should be restricted to your staff.
I haven't set up a proboards site in years. I think I still have owner access to an old one lying around. I'll see if I can figure out the necessary configuration.

Thanks. By the way I've set up a chatroom. There's an icon on the menu at the top of every page.
